Abstract
Let K be a field of characteristic different from 2. To each quadratic space (V,q) over K, we attach a number called the q-level of K which is a possible generalization of the level of K. In this talk, we will give some general results and examples about this number and highlight the case where q is a Pfister form over K by obtaining generalizations of classical results in the algebraic theory of quadratic forms.
