Ramanujan-like series and String Theory

Abstract
Beginning in 2002 I have discovered formulas for 1/π2 which are similar to Ramanujan-type series for 1/π and I have proved some of them by the WZ-method. In this talk I will show how to find this kind of series by solving certain equations for some special rational values of a parameter. Curiously, our equations involve functions which are well known to Superstring physicists.
