Ireland’s largest university, University College Dublin, is an internationally recognised and research-driven university with an active ‘nanobio’ environment.
The Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research at UCD is a multi- and often inter-disciplinary community with a world-class suite of technology platforms in areas of transcriptomics, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, flow cytometry, and imaging.
As part of the Nanoscale Function Group, Dr. Rodriguez (School of Physics) and his team has access to 8 atomic force microscopes (AFMs) equipped with advanced imaging capabilities, including 3 home-built ultra-low noise AFMs, 3 combined inverted optical microscopy/AFM systems (with confocal and fluorescence capabilities) and extensive biosample preparation facilities. Prof. Simpson (SBES) established and runs the UCD Cell Screening Laboratory for high content cell-based assays for Irish researchers.
