Alcohol Interlocks Submissions

An invitation for approval by the Medical Bureau of Road Safety (MBRS) was published on e-tenders on 13th July 2023.

The requirements for approval include compliance with the EN 50436 Standard Series, the series includes requirements for devices measuring breath alcohol for drink-driver offender programmes and for general preventive use. The outcome from the MBRS’ assessment of a device will be to publish the approval on the MBRS website along with information about the particular device and contact details for the devices manufacturer and/or vendor as appropriate.
