
Louise Lawlor
Principal Analyst
Louise Lawlor has been a Principal Analyst at the Medical Bureau of Road Safety (MBRS) in Ireland since 2017, leading the Alcohol Programme. Her role encompasses blood and urine analysis for alcohol, as well as overseeing the breath testing programme. Under her leadership, the breath testing programme has expanded to include aviation breath testing, and the alcohol ignition interlock approval programme, as well as the roadside breath test devices and evidential breath test instrument programmes. With over 25 years of prior experience in alcohol and drug testing, Louise previously worked at the National Drug Treatment Centre Laboratory in Dublin city. She holds a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology & Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science degree in Toxicology.
Louise is dedicated to advancing forensic alcohol testing and continues to play a key role in
ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of Ireland’s breath testing programmes.
