Intel awards bursaries and employee mentors to 16 UCD graduate students
Thursday, 8 November, 2018
Intel has reconfirmed its strategic partnership with University College Dublin awarding bursaries to sixteen graduate students in Science, Engineering and related fields.
Alongside €3000 to support their academic studies, each awardee will be linked with an Intel employee mentor to provide them with guidance and advice on career development.
Now in its third year, UCD-Intel Masters Student Scholarship Programme aims to connect researchers and students to help fuel the innovation economy of Ireland.
Speaking at a special award ceremony for the students at Intel Ireland's Leixlip Campus, UCD President Professor Andrew Deeks described the scholarships as a key element of the strategic partnership between UCD and Intel.
“I am very pleased to see the strengthening of the relationships in education and research between Intel and UCD College of Engineering and Architecture and UCD College of Science as we continue to build our portfolio of strategic and mutually beneficial partnerships supporting economic and social development in Ireland and globally,” he said.
The strategic partnership between UCD and Intel was signed in March 2016 in order to further connect the two organisations, and to deepen collaboration on research activities.
The Memorandum of Understanding, a culmination of the longstanding relationship between UCD and Intel, focuses on three areas: talent, research, and national policy associated with research and education.
