Research Retreat supports collaborative opportunities

The School of Medicine hosted a Research Retreat on Monday Attendees of research retreat 2024 mingling at the venue24 June in the O’Brien Centre for Science, UCD. The Retreat provided a platform for academic and clinical staff to showcase their current research interests and to allow investigators to meet and exchange ideas with the aim to support collaborative research links.

Professor Michael Keane, the Dean of Medicine and Head of School, opened the event which included approximately 30 speakers. Key speakers included:

  • Professor Colm O’Donnell: National Maternity Hospital
  • Dr Carol Aherne: UCD Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research
  • Professor Ronan Cahill: Mater Misericordiae University Hospital
  • Professor Adam Byrne: UCD Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research
  • Professor Carel Le Roux: UCD Diabetes Complications Research Centre

The event had over 80 attendees and concluded with a barbecue in the UCD Club.
