Introduction to MRI

This course is aimed at radiographers/registrars beginning their training in MRI. It may also be beneficial for MR radiographers who may require a refresher course to update their knowledge and skills.

It will provide a foundation for basic MRI physical principles and clinical applications, leading to an informed selection and manipulation of pulse sequences. It will deliver theoretical clinical knowledge to aid competency in the field of MRI. The course will be delivered by UCD academic staff.

Session 1: 

  • The basics of MRI Safety
  • Basic Principle of MRI
  • MRI of the Knee
  • MRI of the Liver

Session 2:

  • Overview of Pulse Sentences
  • MRI of the Cervix
  • MRI of the Rectum
  • Case Review & Image Viewing
