Ensembles

Our resident performance ensembles are the UCD Choral Scholars, UCD Gamelan Orchestra, UCD Philharmonic Choir, UCD Symphony Orchestra, and the newly-founded Ad Astra Chamber Orchestra. They give frequent concerts on campus and at prestigious Dublin venues, such as the National Concert Hall, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and Christ Church Cathedral. In recent years, our students have been afforded the opportunity to perform in the United States, Java and in countries throughout Europe (Belgium, France, Germany and Sweden).

Structured Elective in Music Performance

This structured elective offers the opportunity to receive formal recognition for taking part in one or more professionally-led music ensembles over a number of trimesters. Students taking 15 credits or more of elective modules in our Performance Ensembles will have the opportunity to have this recognised on their transcript by means of the Structured Elective in Music Performance.
