QS Rankings show rise for UCD
The annual QS World University Rankings, just published, place UCD 131, up from 134 in 2011. UCD was one of only two Irish universities to move up the rankings this year.
The academic survey rank rose slightly, and with a weighting of 40%, is the most important metric in the QS rankings.
Budgetary pressures continue to affect staff-student ratios.
Five-year citations grew by over 35%, demonstrating the calibre and capacity of academic research output.
“Great credit is due to staff who not only deliver a quality education experience to students, to also rank among the world’s elite researchers – despite budgetary pressures.” The president of UCD, Dr Hugh Brady said.
“It’s worth remembering that there are 15,000 higher education institutes globally and UCD has solidified our position within the world’s top 200.”(Produced by UCD University Relations)
