Retirement reception

UCD President, Dr. Hugh Brady and Dr. Caroline Hussey

Over 300 people gathered in O'Reilly Hall on Monday 18 October 2004 to pay tribute to Dr Caroline Hussey on the occasion of her retirement from UCD. Staff from UCD, many other third level institutions, along with the Chancellor of the University, Dr Garret FitzGerald and Dr Desmond Connell were among the guests. 

The President, Dr Hugh Brady, spoke warmly of her accomplishments and thanked her on behalf of the University for the achievements of her long and varied career. Dr Brady noted that Dr Hussey had served on the Governing Body, and later the Governing Authority, continuously from 1979, and had been a member of the Senate since 1981. He also thanked her for her advice and support when he took up the position of President.
