University College Dublin Honours its Golden Jubilarians


Over 130 graduates of University College Dublin from the year 1953 received commemorative scrolls from the President of the University, Dr Art Cosgrove, at a ceremony held in the O' Reilly Hall, Belfield on Friday 19 September 2003. The ceremony marked the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of their graduation from UCD.

Among the Golden Jubilarians who received their first degree in 1953 were:

  • Mr Justice Ronan Keane, Supreme Court Judge.

  • Professor Brian Farrell, Emeritus UCD Professor and broadcaster.

  • Professor Anne Kernan, Vice-Chancellor for Research, University of California.

  • Michael Culligan, Former Chief Executive of ACC Ltd.

  • Fr Cornelius Finucane, CEO of Concern Worldwide.

Jubilarians from Faculty of Medicine.

 

Mr Des McGinley, MVB and Mr Gerard Cullen, MVB

Graduates travelled from all parts of Ireland for the occasion and from the UK, Europe, the United States and Canada.
