UCD agri graduate named latest member of RTE’s Ear to the Ground

A UCD agri graduate is the newest addition to RTE’s popular farming and rural affairs show, (opens in a new window)Ear to the Ground.

Tillage farmer and renewables editor for the Irish Farmers Journal, Stephen Robb will join returning presenters Darragh McCullough and Ella McSweeney for the new series, premiering Thursday 31st October.

With a degree in Agribusiness Management from University College Dublin, and a Masters in Agricultural Innovation, Stephen has reported on renewable energy for several years while maintaining a farm in Newtown Cunningham, County Donegal.



In addition to his print work, he is also a frequent expert contributor to radio and television. 



Stephen’s first episode of Ear to the Ground will be focusing on fodder, and will see him spending a work day delivering animal feed to farms in Tipperary to gauge how farmers are preparing for the coming winter months.



Among the country’s longest running TV shows, Ear to the Ground explores the big issues facing farming and rural life in Ireland.

The programme covers climate change, biodiversity, food production, agri policy and social issues pertaining to rural life and living.

It returns for its 32nd season on Thursday, October 31, at 7pm on RTÉ One.
