Conversations with Professor Alison Kitson

We were delighted to welcome Professor Alison Kitson, inaugural Vice President and Executive Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Flinders University South Australia, to the School on Tuesday April 4th – Wednesday April 5th for the series "Conversations with Professor Alison Kitson".
Alison Kitson is recognised internationally as a leading research translation scientist, nurse leader and champion of improving fundamentals of nursing care research and practice. Her experience spans establishing national programs on standards of nursing care, supporting the development of national clinical guidelines
Professor Kitson delivered a number of talks covering topics like:
- Addressing 21st century challenges in nursing and midwifery education
- Student Masterclass: Fundamentals of care and nursing concepts
- Building up scholarship around educational research, research in the practical setting and supporting interdisciplinary research
- Embedding the fundamentals of Care into Clinical Practice
- Teaching Masterclass: Developing a plan to support the fundamentals of care framework as the red thread through all clinical based modules
We would like to extend our thanks to Professor Kitson for her support and time. Professor Kitson will return as a keynote speaker in the School's Inaugural International Research Conference titled "Scanning Horizons, Driving Change, Building a Healthier World" this August 2023.
