UCD Nursing now ranked 44th in the world in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject

UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems jumped 9 places to be ranked 44th in the World and 3rd in Ireland in this year's QS World University Rankings by Subject announced earlier this week. The School is delighted to see this improvement, bringing us back into the Top 50 and one of only 4 subjects ranked in the Top 50 in University College Dublin. The four subjects ranked in the top-50 globally in UCD is Veterinary Science (33), Petroleum Engineering (34), English Language & Literature (41), and Nursing (44). UCD is ranked No. 126 in the overall QS World University Rankings table. 

The QS Subject Rankings are based on five criteria: Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Citations per Paper, H-Index, and International Research Network (IRN) Index.

For the 2025 Subject Rankings, QS analysed reputation and research data of over 5,200 institutions. From this, more than 1,700 were ranked across a total of 55 academic disciplines and five broad subject areas.
