- Visas & Passports
- Visitors are advised to check what form of identification is required to enter Ireland with their individual airline, tour operator or travel agent before travelling.
- Visitors from some countries may require a visa to enter Ireland. It is essential to check with your tour operator or travel agent whether your originating country requires a visa. Note that visa applications can take a minimum of 6+ weeks for Ireland – please ensure that you apply in time to attend the conference. Also note that Ireland is not a member of the Schengen Area.
- Insurance
- All attendees are advised to arrange appropriate travel insurance. The organisers accept no liability for personal accidents or damage to property while in attendance.
- Banks & Currency
- The Euro (€) is the currency in use in Ireland.
- Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted in pubs, shops and restaurants throughout the country.
- Traveller's cheques are not widely used, but can be cashed at some hotels and banks - please confirm before travelling.
- In general, Bank opening hours are 10:00-16:00 (Monday-Friday) - opening hours vary by branch and location.
- Climate
- March weather can be quite changeable, average temperatures range from 2ºC (low) to 11ºC (high).

- Shopping
- General opening hours are 09:00-18:00 (Monday-Saturday) with later opening hours on Thursdays.
- Smoking
- Smoking is prohibited in public areas within Ireland including all bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Designated smoking areas are usually available outside venues.
- Tipping
- Tipping is a generally accepted practice in restaurants and bars. A service charge may be included in some restaurants and should be stated on the menu, but otherwise this is a discretionary item, normally around 10%.
