We are the largest teaching and research centre for Philosophy in Ireland.
We are unique in the broad range of research and teaching interests we offer. Our areas of expertise include Contemporary European (Continental) Philosophy, Analytic Philosophy, History of Philosophy, Philosophy of Law, Political Philosophy and Cognitive Science. Our members of staff have published widely in the history of philosophy, political philosophy, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, and are prominent in international academic circles.
We also offer a friendly and open atmosphere where students and staff regularly interact and exchange ideas in discussion groups and coffee mornings.
A highly ranked periodical, (opens in a new window)The International Journal of Philosophical Studies, is edited from the School and we also publish a peer-reviewed graduate philosophy journal, (opens in a new window)Perspectives.
