On Tuesday, 11th December, a school paper entitled "
School sociodemographic characteristics and obesity in schoolchildren: does the obesity definition matter?" published in BMC Public Health by Dr Silvia Bel-Serrat and colleagues earlier this year was awarded with the "Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland Research Awards 2018" in the category of Epidemiology and Public Health Medicine. The paper includes data of Irish school-children who participated in the WHO Europe Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative (WHO COSI).
