Welcome new undergraduates!
We were delighted to welcome our newest undergraduate classes at their orientations yesterday and today, 13th/14th September 2023.
A number of events took place over the two days where our BSc Physiotherapy Class of 2027 and BSc Health and Performance Science and BSc Science and Exercise Management Classes of 2026 were formally welcomed by UCD President, Professor Orla Feely and the Dean and Head of School, Professor Catherine Blake. The students were introduced to key areas of the university and got to meet their fellow classmates in a series of ice-breakers and gatherings.
They also took part in the traditional UCD Scarving Ceremony where each student was presented with a scarf in the colours of the university. All students were asked to place their scarves around their necks at the same time. This represents the beginning of their journey as a UCD student. All students are encouraged to wear their scarves as a symbol of their pride in UCD, whether on or off campus, at home or abroad.
