DR CARLA PERROTTA PhD,M.D.
UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science
Dr Carla Perrotta graduated as Medical Doctor in 1993 at the University of Buenos Aires. She completed her clinical training in Internal Medicine and was invited to complete a Research Fellowship in General Internal Medicine at UPMC, Pittsburgh (1998) and completed a Clinical Fellowship in General Medicine in Buenos Aires (1999) along with a Masters in Clinical Effectiveness (2000), a Fellowship in Cochrane Collaboration (2003), PhD in Epidemiology at the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science in 2008.
She has a Diploma in Health Economics, Diploma in Primary Care Pediatrics, a Diploma in Orthopedic and Rheumatological Medicine, and an Argentine Certification in Specialist Family Medicine and General Practice.
She has pursued a career in Public Health and General Practice, working on both sides of the Atlantic, in Ireland-as a General Practitioner-and in Argentina combining both.
She has also worked as external Consultant for UNICEF, WORLD BANK and IBEROAMERICAN FUND BANK in a wide range of Public Health Programs and Primary Care implementation programs; from Mother and Child Health, Environmental Health and Non-communicable Diseases tailored programs in Argentina from 2011 to 2016.
She was Director of Integrated Clinical Networks for the Ministry of Health, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina (2016). Her research interests are Knowledge synthesis, Implementation Science, Clinical Effectiveness, Primary Care and Patient Safety.
