Ruth Ferris
Ruth Ferris is a Lecturer, Tutor and Placement Supervisor for over ten years with the School of Education, University College Dublin. Ruth was a History and English teacher, before returning to UCD, to lecture and research at the School of Education. She has an MA in Mentoring and has worked for many years in continued education of teachers. Research interests are the history of education (particularly regarding women religious), leadership in initial teacher education, and history methodologies in the post-primary school. As the M. Michael Corcoran Doctoral Scholar in the field of History of Education at UCD, her PhD examines the pioneering educator and Loreto Superior General, M. Michael Corcoran. She has experience in Development Education and was appointed as PINNACLE the project manager in December 2018.
Dr. Ellen Regan
As a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the PINNACLE project, Ellen's previous experience as a qualified school teacher with a keen interest in volunteering in the global south inspired her to join the team. She completed her Doctoral studies on Irish women as missionaries and volunteers. Her research interests include teacher identity and the history of education.
