Dr. Ryll holds a medical degree from the Free University of Berlin, Germany and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from University College London, UK. After losing her husband to melanoma, she founded the (opens in a new window)Melanoma Patient Network Europe and developed a special interest in patient-centric clinical research. |
Dr. Ryll is involved in numerous initiatives promoting evidence-based advocacy. She focuses on the enormous potential and capacity of patient networks to both educate and support patients as well as to capture data at the primary data source – the patients themselves – and to generate evidence at a granular level non-accessible to outsiders.
Dr. Ryll is a member of the (opens in a new window)EU Cancer Mission Board and works with (opens in a new window)Nollvision Cancer, the Swedish Cancer Mission.
Patient Expert Panel- Designed by Patient Advocates, for Researchers
What advice do patient experts have for researchers looking to engage with them for PPI? In this panel discussion designed and delivered by IPPOSI Patient Education Graduates, patient advocates discuss their experiences interacting with PPI, common challenges and mistakes, and how researchers can avoid them.
2022 Seed Funding Awardees
This year's seed funding aimed to support PPI contributors such as community and patient organisations to collaborate with UCD researchers on a project related to the development, design or implementation of processes that create more inclusive practices for PPI in research. We are delighted to officially announce the four successful applicants and give an over of each of the successful projects.
Future forward: how is PPI in research advancing in Ireland
PPI in research has been successfully introduced across certain areas of research. What's next? How do we sustain PPI in research culture, build good practices and prevent tokenism? We have a whole session focused on the future vision for PPI in research in UCD and beyond.
Digital PPI Showcase
We invite you to submit content for the digital showcase. The digital PPI showcase will be on display throughout all the breaks and lunches at the PPI Symposium.
What can you showcase?
Anything that highlights the diversity and variety of PPI happening in UCD- provided it fits on a slide! This could be: Photos, Testimonials, Infographics, Images, Posters or other material you may have generated throughout your experience with PPI. Consider what may spark an idea or inspire a colleague! To submit, simply upload your content onto the slide deck (opens in a new window)here before October 14th.
