UCD Research Profiles (aka RMS Profiles) enables research and academic staff to showcase their research expertise on outward-facing UCD websites. These (opens in a new window)publicly available profiles are used by academics, industry and other organisations to identify possible collaborators for research projects, and by potential students to identify supervisors.
The vast majority of UCD Research’s web traffic is to these profiles, and most of this traffic is from beyond the university, so maintaining an up-to-date profile is a simple and effective way to promote your research to a wider audience.
Some features of the system include:
- Automatic harvesting from Scopus, ORCID, Web of Science, arXiv, PubMed, etc.
- Automatic updates from university systems, including HR Core, Banner Student Information System, and RMS Grants.
- Seamless integration with the (opens in a new window)Research Repository UCD. When uploading publications to RMS Profiles, researchers can also add the final draft version for upload to the Research Repository UCD. See UCD Library’s (opens in a new window)step-by-step guide and (opens in a new window)video on how to upload a paper in Research Repository UCD.
- (opens in a new window)Feeds for researcher profiles on websites.
Visit the UCD Research Services Portal for guidance on how to update your profile.
You may also find it useful to add a link to your RMS profile in your email signature, so that people you contact are familiar with your latest research.
