To celebrate International Disability Day, December 3rd, the UCD Centre for Disability Studies is co-hosting two events next week.

Associate Professor Christine Linehan, Director of the UCD Centre for Disability Studies and Chair of the ILAE Intellectual Disability Task Force, will chair an ILAE webinar on definitions and diagnosis of developmental disabilities.
The guest speaker is Dr Laura M. F. Ferreira Guilhoto, Chief of Pediatric Epilepsy Unit, Hospital Sao Paulo and clinical neurophysiologist at Hospital Universitario, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The panellists are Dr Francesca Snoeijen-Schouwenaars, Intellectual Disability physician, Kempenhaeghe, the Netherlands and Dr Vincente Villanueva, Neurologist, Hospital Universitario y Politecnico La Fe, Spain.

This webinar is hosted by IASSIDD, the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The webinar represents a collaboration by IASSIDD’s Health Issues Special Interest Research Group and Comparative Policy and Practice Special Interest Group (Chaired by Associate Professor Christine Linehan, Director of the UCD Centre for Disability Studies). These Special Interest Research Groups have produced a Special Edition of the Journal of Policy and Practice in Intellectual Disabilities. The Special Edition comprises a series of papers that outline how health systems in different countries address the health needs of individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. This webinar presents a selection of these papers.
