Irish University Secures Historic Top 10 Finish at Rotman International Trading Competition

Toronto, Canada– On February 22, 2025 a team of fourth-year Economics and Finance students from the University College Dublin I&E (Investors and Entrepreneurs Society), led by Muhammad Memon and Patrick McElroy, achieved an outstanding global ranking at the prestigious Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC).
The team placed 9th overall, marking the highest-ever ranking for an Irish university in almost two-decades of the competition.

The RITC, hosted annually by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, is one of the world’s most competitive trading competitions, bringing together top students from leading global universities. The competition tests participants on algorithmic trading, risk management, and financial decision-making under real-world market conditions.
