Niall FitzGerald, KBE visits UCD Quinn School
Niall Fitzgerald, KBE, presented his lecture and challenged final year Bachelor of Commerce students to think about their views with a talk on: "CSR: Rebuilding Trust in Business: A Perspective on Corporate Social Responsibility in the 21st Century".
Referring to moments in his employment as former Chairman and CEO of Unilever he argued that an organisation can have a social impact as well as a business impact and believes that businesses must interact with the societies in which they serve.
“Responsible behaviour is core to the strategy of a business” was a key theme addressed through the lecture. Students were asked to think about how their future careers can tackle social issues as well as building organisational sucess.
This talk is one in the number of “Dean’s Speaker Series” which invites prominent speakers to address the Business School students. Niall is a UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business Alumnus of the Year winner (2012).
