Students present research, impact at BBS Final-Year Research Expo
Final year, part-time, Bachelor of Business Studies degree students packed the UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business to present their work at the BBS Final-Year Research Expo.
Students presented their research through a poster session and were visited by faculty to discuss their findings. Research topics ranged from social media to performance appraisal strategies.
The annual Research Expo demonstrates salient industry insights arising from the students’ work and highlights the unique contributions of students who balance full-time employment and part-time study.
"Part-time students are well placed to explore contemporary academic theory in the current business environment," explains Dr Orna O'Brien, Programme Office Director of Centre for Distance Learning, UCD College of Business. Although the event represents the end of a four-year journey of academic discovery, the Research Expo is only the start of the celebrations for these students.
"At the event, our final-year students have the opportunity to reflect on their hard work with family members, friends, lecturers, supervisors and academics who have supported them through their experience with us here at the UCD Quinn School,” continued O’Brien. “We are extremely proud of their accomplishments and look forward to their future success in their chosen industries.”
