Nicolas Hess, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School MSc in CEMS Masters in International Management alumnus ’13, has been nominated for the CEMS Alumni of the Year Award in the Mid-Career Alumni Category.
Voting is now open and will close on October 24, 2022. The voting process takes less than one minute and can be accessed here.
Alumni Awards are given out in 3 categories: Junior Alumni Award (1 to 5 years), Mid-Career Alumni Award (6 to 15 years) and Senior Alumni Award (16 to 30 years). Voting is required in all three categories.
“While managing Roboyo, the world’s largest Intelligent Automation professional services company, Nicolas has continued to enrich the academic and corporate experience of the wider CEMS community across multiple countries,” said Associate Professor Andrew Keating, Academic Director for the UCD CEMS Masters in International Management (MIM) programme.
“Nicolas has been extraordinary in supporting CEMS students by providing them with internships, employment opportunities and skills seminars. In 2022, he also led Roboyo to become a corporate partner of CEMS, and the company now includes several CEMS alumni from various schools and who form part of the 500 employees in the company.”
The CEMS Alumni Awards are presented annually to outstanding CEMS alumni in recognition of excellent contributions to promote one or many of the CEMS values of global citizenship, cultural diversity, professional responsibility, professional accountability and impact on society as a whole.
CEMS is recognised as a unique global community, comprising the world’s finest students, schools, alumni, corporate and social partners, delivering the leading international Masters in Management that prepares responsible leaders contributing to a more open, sustainable and inclusive world.
“As an entrepreneur and CEO, Nicolas is a charismatic leader who actively promotes the CEMS value of responsible citizenship and who leads by example in the spirit of global leadership and generosity, supporting others in achieving their potential,” Associate Professor Keating commented.
After completing his BSc in Business Administration and Economics at University of Passau (Germany), Nicolas then pursued his CEMS MIM at UCD (Ireland) and ESADE (Spain). After completing his studies, he joined Deloitte Switzerland as a Business Analyst and later as a Management Consultant. In January 2016, Nicolas co-founded Roboyo, a company which provides solutions for intelligent automation combining smart software, artificial intelligence and robotic process automation, to automate processes and enable the Connected Enterprise. Today, he serves as Managing Director of the company.
The UCD CEMS Masters in Management programme is ranked 10th globally in the prestigious Financial Times Masters in Management ranking and UCD Smurfit School was awarded CEMS School of the Year in 2021.
Nicolas is the third alumni nominated for this award in the past three years. Former nominees include Deirdre Ryan (2020) and Enrico Fontana (2021) who were both recognised with runner up awards.
“With over 17,000 CEMS alumni across the world, these prestigious nominations reflect the global citizenship and impactful career goals of graduates of the UCD CEMS Masters in Management programme,” concluded Associate Professor Keating.
