Irish/EU/UK and non-EU Applicants

The definition of EU/non-EU applicants is based on fee assessment criteria.

Please visit the fee assessment page to check your fee status so that you can apply in the appropriate way.

If you are eligible for EU fees* and applying for the first year of an undergraduate degree, you must apply via the Central Applications Office (CAO online at www.cao.ie.  

Application with state exams

Ireland (Leaving Certificate) 

  • The minimum entry requirements for Leaving Certificate students to Business and Law are as follows:
  • O6/H7 in English, Irish, a third language, and two other recognised subjects
  • O2/H6 in Mathematics
  • CAO points 2024: 576 (Round 1)

Please note the UCD general entry requirements to full-time Level 8 degree programmes in UCD are a minimum of 2 H5 & 4 O6/H7 grades.

UK or EU

  • For equivalent entry requirements information for A-Level/GCSE and other EU Applicants, please click here and follow the appropriate link.

Access or Progression Pathway to UCD 

  • A number of places are available to eligible HEAR and DARE applicants. 
  • If you are at least 23 years of age on the 1st January of the year you wish to enter; you can apply on the grounds of mature years
  • Students with the relevant QQI-FET Level 5 Award can apply for progression to Stage 1 of the Bachelor of Business & Law on a competitive basis.
