Submitting an Application

You must submit your application via an online form. You can create a new account or sign in to an existing account by clicking on the Apply to UCD button. It is your responsibility to ensure that your application has been submitted and all required supporting documentation, including the application fee if applicable, provided by the relevant closing date. Name, address etc. must be entered in the Roman alphabet and an offer will not be issued in cases where personal details have been entered in another alphabet (e.g. Arabic, Chinese etc.). If you need assistance please see the instructions for applicants [pdf]. Information about the application process can be found on our FAQ section.

When do applications open?

Applications may open at various stages throughout the year but, in general, applications for graduate taught programmes to start next September, open on 1 October.

What are the closing dates?

Closing dates vary and may be seen on the course finder if it has been decided in advance. However, most courses operate a rolling admissions policy with decisions being taken as soon as possible after receipt of completed applications. Therefore, it is advisable that you do not delay making an application as competition for places may result in courses reaching capacity quickly. In general, courses remain open until such time as all places have been filled.

The programmes that accept online applications can be found in the Course Catalogue section. If the programme you are looking to apply for is closed, please contact the office of the programme directly to find out further information regarding the opening and closing dates. Contact information for different schools can be found on the Colleges webpage.
