Stage 2 Transfers - Indicative Places

Applications for transfer and readmission will open from 17 April to 12 June 2024. There is no guarantee that there will be places available in any course or that any application will be successful. Availability of places is dependent on progression and retention of existing students.

External applicants may provide their transcript of results up to close of business on 28 June 2024. Applications with results provided after 28 June 2024 can only be considered if places remain following initial offers.

Subject to availability of places after initial offers, late applications may open from 15 to 19 August 2024. Please note that registration typically starts from mid-August so any successful late applicants may be late joining registration processes and consequently, module availability may be reduced.

Notes:

  • If you have already made an application(opens in a new window) use this link to access it.
  • It is unusual for places to be available in 3rd or subsequent years, except for re-admission applicants. Any such places will be listed below, when applications are open. External applicants see next point.
  • For a UCD degree to be awarded, University regulations stipulate that at least 50% of the overall programme credits must normally have been earned in UCD.
  • Non-EU applicants must contact UCD Global.

After the closing date, all complete, submitted applications will be screened by Admissions. Applications which meet the minimum requirements (as outlined in the "Am I Eligible?" section of the applicant pages at www.ucd.ie/transfer) will be sent to the College/School Offices for consideration by the relevant Programme Board. Incomplete applications or applications that do not meet the minimum requirements cannot be considered.

Applications are currently closed.

If you are considering applying for a transfer, please check the fees implications at www.ucd.ie/fees.

Some programmes will not normally consider applicants who have been unsuccessful in a similar programme - full details are on the restrictions page.

All offers of a place are subject toUCD's Terms and Conditions of Offer. In line with the(opens in a new window)Admissions Policy, offers for taught programmes will not be made after the third week of a trimester. Deferral or Leave of Absence is not permissible for the trimester following acceptance of a transfer/re-admission offer.

In some cases, students may wish to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning in addition to that granted by the transfer process (see Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy).

All students must comply with the regulations of the University.

The above is summary information only. Full regulations are included in the (opens in a new window)Transfer Policy.
