Chair Of The Examination Committee

The responsibility of the Chair of the Examination Committee is to oversee the examination process of the thesis, from start to finish. They will provide the timelines to the Examiners.

The Chair of the Examination Committee will ensure

  • that the Examiners have access to the thesis, and tasks.
  • that all steps of the examination are conducted in accordance with the University’s regulations and guidelines.
  • that the Preliminary Reports are completed and shared amongst all members of the Examination Committee, via the eThesis examination system.

  • that all tasks are completed in a timely fashion

Notes

  • All Preliminary Reports must be submitted to the eThesis system before the Joint Degree Report or revised Final Thesis can be submitted.

  • There is no draft facility for Preliminary or Joint Degree Reports.
  • There is a strict 4k byte limit on all sections of the report. Exceeding the byte limit will generate an error message.
  • Using the back arrow when submitting reports will cause duplication of reports thereby blocking the workflow.
