Revisions to the thesis will be completed offline, outside of the eThesis Exam System. When the revisions have been completed the examiner will notify the student that they can now upload the clean revised Final Thesis (no highlighting, red text etc). When the student uploads this Final Thesis the Exam Committee will be notified by email. The Examiner assigned to the task should approve the revised Final Thesis in the system.

The steps required for the approval of the Joint Degree Report by ACCE are: Final Research Degree Report submitted in the online form and approved by both Intern and Extern Examiner(s). The revised Final Thesis submitted by the student and approved by the Inter Examiner.

See section 7.7 Academic Regulations 2024/25 Where no unanimous decision is reached, Academic Council or its relevant committee will decide, on the basis of the submitted reports and, where necessary, clarification or correspondence with the Examiners, which outcome (see section 7.69) is appropriate.

When the award is approved by ACCE, the student’s record is updated to reflect that they are degree complete. An email will be sent from the eThesis Exam system to notify the Student, Supervisor, Head of School and Chair of Exam Committee of the award.
