After Thesis Submission
What Happens After Thesis Submission?
- When your thesis is approved for examination by your Supervisor, an email will be sent to your Exam Committee Members notifying them that your thesis is available.
- Your Examiners will review your thesis and submit their Preliminary Report.
The Chair of your Exam Committee will compile and submit the Joint Degree Report (following the viva if applicable).
The Joint Degree Report contains the (opens in a new window)recommendation of the Examiners (see Academic Regulations) and viva date (today’s date for Level 9 research students who do not have a viva voce).
The submission of the Joint Degree Report triggers the system to prompt the upload of a revised Final Thesis, should revisions be required.
-
If revisions to the thesis are requested, the Chair of the Exam Committee or a nominee (typically the Intern Examiner) will communicate these details to you directly. The nominee will also ensure that all requested revisions are completed. Revisions will be made outside the system.
Once approved, you will:
- Upload your revised Final Thesis (clean copy, without highlighting, red text, or annotations).
- Submit a summary of revisions (maximum 1,000 bytes) and update the abstract if necessary.
- The Intern Examiner will approve the Final Thesis.
- Finally, you will submit your hard-bound thesis, and the Joint Degree Report will be forwarded to the ACCE for approval.
