Click on 'quick links' in the top right hand corner of the Alumni Portal and select SISweb and begin the thesis upload process.

Check your fee status in your SISWeb. You can contact the Student Desk for fee queries. Then, contact your Supervisor to check if they have given you permission to submit

Once embargoed, only the title and the abstract of a thesis will appear in the Research Repository UCD (RRU). The thesis will become available for public view when the embargo period expires. Contact grb@ucd.ie
Procedure for Placing an embargo on Research Degree Thesis

Yes, when you begin the thesis submission process you can edit the thesis title

The summary of your abstract must be less than 4k bytes. Use Notepad++, free download, to check. Your keywords must be separated by a comma. You thesis pdf should be saved with a name less than 50 bytes.

Fees for the next trimester will be requested. Contact your School for advice.

Yes, the thesis should be submitted regardless of the Exam Committee being approved and set up in the system.

Check if your Supervisor has given you permission. Contact eThesis@ucd.ie

We sugggest that you submit before 5pm, should you have queries or need technical support. The system will permit thesis submission up to 11:50pm.

Your Co-Supervisor can cover the Supervisor's tasks in the eThesis Exam System

As per Academic Regulations 7.5 a) you may appeal to your Head of School.

You can only upload one single pdf. You should try to include all your material in this pdf. If you have other material that you need to share with your Exam Committee you should safely share this.

Your supervisor/School should be your first point of contact as they will be able to provide you with guidance on the most appropriate action relevant to your situation. Your School can request an extension to your submission deadline due to exceptional circumstances.

Your supervisor can reject the uploaded document, which will then allow you to upload the correct document

The system may see this as submitting in the next term. Please contact ethesis@ucd.ie

Your thesis cannot be exchanged once submitted and approved for exam, as per Academic Regulations 7.56 The thesis cannot be withdrawn from the examination process once accepted for examination.

Contact the Chair of your Exam Committee to reschedule.

Revisions do not come through the eThesis Exam system. The Intern Examiner is usually nominated to oversee thesis revisions. You will complete the revisions offline. The Intern Examiner will inform you when you can upload your revised Final Thesis

Your SISweb should indicate your status and required actions.

When the Intern Examiner approves your uploaded revised Final Thesis you will be notified by email. You may now submit your hard-bound thesis.

You will have access to the Joint Degree Report when it has been approved by ACCE
