Áine Moore appointed Head of Research Programmes at UCD Research

After many years guiding UCD to success at the helm of the EU Research Office, Áine Moore takes up the position of Senior Manager over Research Programmes at UCD Research and Innovation.

Áine led the EU Research team since 2018 and was responsible for establishing the EU Research Office at UCD Research. In this capacity, she has managed the EU team in enabling and supporting the UCD research community to attain success in collaborative EU funding, primarily focused but not limited to Pillar 2 in Horizon Europe.
Áine has successfully led her team to design, develop and implement the UCD Research Horizon Europe strategy to significantly diversify our research funding base. She established a number of Horizon Europe research management groups at both UCD and IUA level across the sector. Furthermore, Áine has been centrally involved in our EU positioning through our external networks including at CESAER, Una Europa and EARMA.

Prior to this role, Áine has had over 10 years of research management experience at UCD, working in both pre- and post-award research management for Systems Biology Ireland and the Centre for BioNano Interactions, together with Professor Walter Kolch and Professor Kenneth Dawson. During this time, she developed expertise in proposal development, research support, managing complex, multi-partner research projects and fostering collaborations.
