Climate, Energy and Mobility Cluster

The main objectives of Cluster 5 are to fight climate change, improve the competitiveness of the energy and transport industry as well as the quality of the services that these sectors bring to society with a view to achieving climate neutrality in Europe by 2050.

Impact Areas and Destinations 2023-2025

The work programme  for Cluster 5 aims to contribute to six expected impact areas of the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan which are the six destinations (key areas) of this work programme:

  1. Climate sciences and responses for the transformation towards climate neutrality
  2. Cross-sectoral solutions for the climate transition
  3. Sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply
  4. Efficient, sustainable and inclusive energy use
  5. Clean and competitive solutions for all transport modes

Mission Areas

Accomplishing missions will require a cross-cutting approach, drawing on research and innovation activities defined not only through individual Clusters, but across Horizon Europe and beyond. Research and innovation activities within this Cluster thus have the potential to support missions in a number of mission areas:

The costing of salaries in a research proposal should adhere to the IUA salary scales for postdoctoral researchers and research assistants.
