Postdoc Orientation
Attending a Postdoc Career Orientation Day within 3 months of starting at UCD is important to get information on the full programme of supports available to UCD Postdocs, in addition to the Orientation for all new employees run by UCD People and Organisation Development. The Postdoc Orientation Day is opened by the UCD Vice-President for Research, Innovation and Impact and is supported by PIs and other professional staff around the University. The focus is specifically on how Postdocs can make the most of their experience in UCD to develop their careers within the Academy and across other sectors.
Postdoc Career Orientation Days are aimed both at new and current early-career Researchers and include presentations from UCD Research, UCD Teaching & Learning, the Research Staff Association and Office of Public Engagement. In addition, the Career Days feature advice on preparing for Academic interviews and information on cross-sectoral opportunities, with a range of internal and external guest speakers.
Postdoc Orientation days are held 3-4 times per year, usually from 9:30am to 12pm, and can be booked via the Events Calendar.
