Conference themes:
1. Building Sustainable Research Partnerships
'Strong research partnerships are essential for tackling society’s most complex challenges, whether through international collaboration, interdisciplinary work, or connections across sectors. A robust research culture plays a critical role in fostering these partnerships, ensuring they are grounded in trust, shared values, and mutual respect. Ethics and integrity are fundamental to building sustainable relationships, while research security is increasingly significant, particularly in international contexts where sensitive data and intellectual property must be protected. This session will explore how a positive research culture supports the development of effective partnerships, addressing the challenges and opportunities for collaboration at all levels.'
2. Measuring Research Culture Progress
'Research culture is about the behaviour of people in our research community - the quality of their working relationships, which roles are included as part of research careers, how contributions to research are valued, and how research is communicated. Increasingly, excellence of research institutions and researchers themselves is partially evaluated on the culture they cultivate. How can we measure culture change? This session will explore the development of research culture indicators, directional changes in culture, and models to inform good practice and policy.'
3. Research Careers
'High quality research talent is a vital component for the R&I ecosystem in Ireland. Careers in research may be pursued through a diverse range of interrelated roles. While academic roles are often the most visible, the full range of research careers include early stage researchers like graduate research students and postdoctoral researchers as well as research managers and administrators and technical officers. Clear opportunities for progression through and across research roles are essential. This session will explore early career researcher development and recognition for curvy research career paths as valuable supports for a thriving research ecosystem in Ireland.'
