Presentation Abstract
This presentation will argue that creating robust partnership principles is the foundation for
collaborations to work in practice. Using an institutional case study (the Victoria and Albert
Museum) and a significant Arts and Humanities Research Council funded doctoral training
scheme (Collaborative Doctoral Partnerships) this presentation explores how the cultural and
heritage sector is responding to the significant ongoing shifts in the research landscape,
suggesting that robust, long-term partnerships, rooted in clear mutual benefit provide both
strategic benefit and enable nimble responses when opportunities arise.
