The Inaugural Shane Kenny Memorial Biotechnology Lecture
Shane Kenny was a graduate of Industrial Microbiology at UCD and received a PhD in Microbiology. He was the first employee of Bioplastech, a UCD spin-out, and was a driver of many of the technological innovations in the company. Sadly Shane passed away in July of 2020. He was a huge presence in our lives and is so greatly missed by us all.
The school, in conjunction with BiOrbic, is delighted to announce the inaugural Shane Kenny Memorial Lecture with Prof Lars Blank, Professor of Applied Microbiology at RWTH Aachen University. Shane and Lars collaborated on two EU projects with Lars as co-ordinator (P4SB and Mix-Up). Shane knew and respected Lars very much and so it is fitting that Lars should deliver the inaugural lecture.
The lecture will take place on Monday Feb 22nd 2021 at 13:00 IRISH local time (14:00 CET)
