On Wednesday 4th September 2024, the UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science (SBBS) celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2024 at the school's annual conferring reception. The event was attended by faculty members, students, and their families.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome from the Head of School, Professor Cormac Murphy, who praised the graduates for their resilience and dedication throughout their studies.
Medals were awarded to the top performing students in Stage 4 of each of the school's five BSc degree programmes- Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Neuroscience and Pharmacology.
Hugh Murphy winner of the Joy Carey medal for Best Biochemistry Project with Head of Biochemistry, Dr Jana Haase.
James Plant winner of the Michael G. Harrington Medal for Biochemistry with Head of Biochemistry, Dr Jana Haase.
Liam Lenihan winner of the Genetics medal, with Head of Genetics, Assoc Prof Peadar O'Gaora.
Kate Dunne winner of The Hussey Award for Microbiology with Head of Microbiology, Dr Jennifer Mitchell.
Rachel Grogan winner of the Neuroscience Medal with Head of Neuroscience, Dr Derek Costello.
Robyn Leahy winner of the Regan Medal for Pharmacology with Head of Pharmacology, Assoc Prof Carmel Hensey.
