Ad Astra Fellows at the UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science – New Opportunities for 2025

UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science is delighted to announce two interdisciplinary Assistant Professor positions as part of the University College Dublin Ad Astra Fellowship programme. These roles are collaborative appointments with other leading UCD College of Science Schools, reflecting our commitment to fostering cross-disciplinary research and education.
1. Assistant Professor in Macromolecular Biophysical Chemistry / Chemical Biophysics (job ref 018108)
The College of Science is seeking a faculty colleague who will research at the intersection of the physical and chemical principles governing macromolecular biological systems to study and address interconnected challenges in human, animal, and environmental health.
The appointment will span the UCD Schools of Physics, Biomolecular and Biomedical Science and Chemistry and will contribute to the research themes and to relevant taught programmes within these Schools.

2. Assistant Professor in Micropollutant Detection, Destruction and/or Ecotoxicology (job ref 018107)
The College of Science is seeking a faculty member in the area of micropollutant detection, destruction and/or ecotoxicology. The successful candidate will undertake research in aspects of qualification and quantification, destruction and/or toxicity analysis of contaminants of emerging concern.
The appointment will span the UCD Schools of Biology & Environmental Science, Biomolecular and Biomedical Science, Earth Sciences and Chemistry and will contribute to the research themes and to relevant taught programmes within these Schools.
