Laboratory Safety
The University SIRC Office has prepared a number of (opens in a new window)general laboratory risk assessments to aid laboratory workers in addressing laboratory hazards. These documents must be reviewed by persons working in a laboratory in order to ensure that they adequately manage the risks posed by the laboratory in question and in the event that a general laboratory risk assessment is not sufficient to control the risks posed by a laboratory hazard then an additional risk assessment must be completed.
Users of chemical and biological materials should refer to the UCD Chemical Safety Manual(opens in a new window) and the (opens in a new window)UCD Laboratory Biosafety Manual for information on these laboratory hazards. There are also a number of (opens in a new window)general biological agents, (opens in a new window)general chemical agents and general radioactive material risk assessments available for consultation.
