Who we are

The DAAD is the world’s largest funding organisation for the international exchange of students and researchers. 

What we do

DAAD grants scholarships and enables students to study, teach and research at institutions where they can optimally develop their potential. DAAD also promotes the internationalization of German and EU-universities, as international experience strengthens academic excellence and research organizations. It also allows betterment of German cultural and language studies abroad. Therefore, the DAAD is committed to attracting talented individuals to Germany as a place of innovative science and industry, while enabling students, instructors, and researchers in Germany to gain international experience.
