Durational Reading of Bunreacht na hÉireann (Irish Constitution)

Venue: Gardiner Atrium, Sutherland School of Law
Time: 1pm- 4pm (drop by to listen to any section of the reading)
Sutherland School of Law- Durational Reading of Bunreacht na hÉireann (Irish Constitution). First time in Irish history.
Durational Reading of Bunreacht na hÉireann (Irish Constitution): The Irish people have gone to the polls to change the constitution on 39 separate issues since 1937 but this is the first time ever in Ireland that there has been a durational reading of Bunreacht na hÉireann to consider the values within our founding document as a whole and reflect on its relevance to modern Ireland.
Join Dr Maebh Harding, poet Dr Juile Morrissy, academics and students from UCD at any stage during the reading to connect with this important legal document that has been fundamentally formed and shaped in conversation with the people of Ireland. The reading itself emphasises the importance of collective and collaborative reading practices as a means to bolster community and to spark conversations about potential changes to our society.
Find out more about how you can witness, engage, and join in this significant reading of the Bunreacht led jointly by poet, Dr Julie Morrissy and assistant professor in law, Maebh Harding.

Shaping our understanding of culture with interactive clay modelling!
Shape your understanding of cultures with Mmogo Method’s interactive clay journey! Participants will be equipped with a ball of clay, some sticks, and beads, along with open-ended questions. The clay serves as their artistic canvas, providing a judgement-free and fearless space for moulding their thoughts and how we think of culture within the College.
This interactive and inclusive event encourages all participants to express their cultural perspectives. This hands-on activity, guided by open-ended questions and facilitated by students and staff from UCD School of Psychology will help participants reflect on their thoughts of our culture within UCD.
Refreshments will be provided.
