Farewell to the 2019 Graduates
Last week we bid farewell to a range of graduates from our 11 schools of UCD College of Social Sciences and Law and we would like to warmly wish you all the best in everything for your bright futures ahead. Below are the conferral addresses delivered by Dr Aideen Quilty and Dr Michaél Collins, both from UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice.
"The skills you have accumulated here, skills we as faculty had the pleasure to see grow and mature over the past few years, are skills we look forward to seeing you deploy in various ways and routes, in your own interest but also in the interest of your community and your societies in the years to come". Dr Michaél Collins conferral address is available here.
"Whatever path you are about to embark on one thing is clear, that parchment you hold means you go forward as graduates of UCD. And that means you go forward - as philosopher Maxine Greene terms ‘wide-awake’ to the world – your eyes wide open to its possibilities and challenges. You have the critical thinking and questioning skills to consider the world in imaginative and different ways". Dr Aideen Quilty's conferral address is available here.
