Law Micro-credentials to make upskilling and reskilling more accessible for learners.
Enhance your CV with Micro-credentials
Micro-credentials are short, flexible, accredited, industry-aligned courses that give learners
the opportunity to upskill and boost their career prospects, while earning university credit in
the form of ECTS.
UCD School of Philosophy, School of Psychology and Sutherland School of Law each offer a
range of micro-credentials to address many of the barriers to life-long learning. Their flexible
design enables learners to balance further study with professional commitments.
Up to 80% Fee Reduction to Incentivise Upskilling
To encourage participation in lifelong learning, a Fee Subsidy Scheme has been introduced.
This scheme reduces the learner fee by 50% or 80% for eligible learners on identified micro-
credentials, on a first-come-first served basis. The initiative is designed to encourage
upskilling and reskilling in key priority areas and is available on the majority of UCD’s
College of Social Sciences and Law Micro-credentials.
UCD School of Philosophy Micro-credentials
The Centre for Ethics in Public Life, based in the UCD School of Philosophy have developed
micro-credentials in ethics. The aim is to provide learners with a practical understanding of
how ethics influences decision-making in public life and the workplace. Therefore, industry
can foster more conscientious and responsible employees, contributing to the cultivation of
trusted and reputable organisations.
Ethics Micro-credential topics include, but are not limited to:
Professional Certificate in Ethics Micro-credential(Level 9 | 10 ECTS | 50% Fee Subsidy)
New Technology and Responsible Innovation (Level 9 | 2.5 ECTS | 80% Fee Subsidy)

UCD School of Psychology Micro-credentials
The School of Psychology currently offers micro-credentials in the areas of mindfulness and
disability studies. These micro-credentials are open to all individuals with an interest in
disability, including but not limited to, people with disabilities, family members people who
work in the disability field or healthcare professionals.
The Centre for Disability Studies in the School of Psychology have micro-credentials
covering the following topics:
Prof Cert in Multielement Behaviour Support (Level 9 | 10 ECTS | 50% Fee Subsidy)
Prof Cert in Advanced Disability Studies (Level 9 | 10 ECTS | 50% Fee Subsidy)

UCD Sutherland School of Law Micro-credentials
The UCD Sutherland School of Law, the leading centre for legal education and research in
Ireland offer a wide range of micro-credentials to help legal professionals upskill and reskill
in specialised areas. It collaborates with law firms, government departments, and NGOs to
align programs with sectoral needs.
UCD’s Law Micro-credentials address topics such as:
Arbitration Law and Procedure (Level 9 | 5 ECTS | 50% Fee Subsidy)
Cybersecurity Law and Regulation (Level 9 | 10 ECTS | 80% Fee Subsidy)
