About Us
C-Space is a university-wide centre for space-related research, innovation and education. Our purpose is to build partnerships that advance the use of space to address global scientific and societal challenges.
The main goals of C-Space are to:
- Carry out excellent space-related fundamental and applied interdisciplinary research
- Be a key national resource for space expertise
- Inform and support national space policy development and implementation
- Foster industry/academic partnerships and collaborations
- Provide education and training relevant to space industry engaged in both upstream and downstream
We undertake internationally significant research in the following thematic areas:
- Ground- and Space-based Astrophysics
- Earth Observation
- Gamma-Ray Detectors
- Space Structure Dynamics and Control
- Space Materials
- Nanosatellites and Payloads
We provide space-relevant university-based education and CPD courses, the latter in partnership with Space Industry Skillnet. We further support industry through consultancy, collaborations, internships and access to facilities.
C-Space will build national and global partnerships to deliver major space projects for the benefit of Ireland.
