In a thrilling showdown at the National Basketball Arena on Saturday, UCD Marian emerged victorious in the President's Cup Final, defeating the Limerick Sport Eagles with a final score of 91-78.
From the opening tip-off, both teams showcased their determination and skill, setting the stage for an intense battle. UCD Marian's offensive prowess proved to be the difference-maker, securing their triumph.
The top scorers for UCD Marian delivered standout performances, with Jonathon Jean leading the charge with an impressive 29 points. Sean French contributed 17 points, while Toby Christiansen added 12, forming a formidable trio that kept the scoreboard ticking for UCD Marian throughout the game. The experienced Conor Meany must also be noted, helping UCD take a 13 point lead 31-18 entering the second quarter.
